There’s a color problem with the European Commission’s Green Deal.
Environmental groups, fishermen and MEPs want it to become a lot bluer, complaining that Brussels has given short shrift to the oceans in its signature long-term environmental program.
“Ending overfishing and managing fisheries sustainably should be in our climate laws,” Rebecca Hubbard, program director with the NGO Our Fish, said Tuesday during an online debate about sustainable fisheries.
